Goal/purpose:

  • To expose GT students to body modification and the effects on body image.
  • NOTE:  Body modification is broadly defined to include (but not limited to) tattooing and tattoo removal, piercing, cultural traditions that alter the body, body art, cosmetic surgery, branding, bodybuilding, and liposuction.

Learning outcomes:

  • To broaden GT students’ perspectives on and knowledge of body modification
  • To raise awareness of health resources that relate to body modification
  • To expose GT students’ to socio-cultural and historical aspects of body modification

The Body Mod Blog is a forum for GT students, faculty, staff, and alumni to express their perspectives on and knowledge of body modification.  The blog’s purpose is to raise awareness of health, socio-cultural, and historical issues relating to body modification by letting the GT community speak for itself.  The GT Campaign for Everybody does not endorse any body modification practices.
